Bewick’s Swans on the Move - the Map
Instructions
- Three resting points per day are shown: roosting place (5 am), feeding area morning (10 am)/afternoon (4 pm).
- Updates are made daily at 11 am.
- The displayed migration route covers a standard 2-month period. Another period (“Zeitraum”) can be chosen as desired.
- To save data capacity and improve clarity, the collected data has been divided into “journeys” (e.g. “Reise 2025/2026”). These each cover one Bewick’s Swan season (September 1st to August 31st).
- Toggle on/off: It is possible to turn off all displayed routes simultaneously to track individual swans selectively.
- Note: Swans that are currently in Russia will not be displayed until their return to the Baltic states.

However, some data may be received with delay due to dead zones; data from swans outside the mobile network will only be received upon re-entry. Only the last point of the day is displayed.
